Rixo Just Launched a Bridal Collection, and It’s As Beautiful As You’d Expect

15/02/2021 by Gemma Yates

And the bride wore Rixo. Or at least, she can now, as the cult London label, whose fans include everyone from Laura Whitmore to Margot Robbie, has just unveiled its debut bridal collection.

While 2020 saw weddings (along with everything else in our social calendar) side-lined due to coronavirus, many brides-to-be are hoping this year will be the one they get to tie the knot. Many of our engaged friends, tired of putting their lives on hold, have vowed that their nuptials – whatever they look like – will go ahead in 2021, and after a year devoid of reasons to dress up, the big day look has more significance than ever.

Brides still searching for “the one” are guaranteed to fall in love with at least one design from Rixo’s first bridal collection. Over a year in the making, the 26-piece range launches today (Monday 15th February), and offers exquisite pieces for before and after the big day, styles for bridesmaids and beautiful bridal accessories. Fluid silk fabrics are a Rixo signature, but for this collection co-founders Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCloskey developed a brand new, bespoke 100 per cent silk material with minimal creasing.

From feather-trimmed shifts to all-over sequins, bias-cut silk to beautiful lace, there’s a look for every bride’s vibe. Designs nod to iconic wedding looks from decades gone by – the Adeline & Joan two-piece is the perfect homage to Bianca Jagger – and there’s a jumpsuit too if dresses aren’t your thing. Complete the look with a pearl-embellished headband, elegant lace veil or cool silk scarf. Prices start at £350 and the sizes range from 6-16.

Because choosing a wedding outfit is almost as much of a commitment as the marriage itself (we joke. kinda) Rixo will have a dedicated bridal specialist on hand to ensure your big day look suits your big day – and you. Drop bridal@rixo.co.uk an email to book in for a consulation, and keep scrolling to see the rest of the collection.

I may have been a fashion editor for a decade, but I may have been a fashion editor for a decade, but I definitely lost my style mojo after baby no.1 (if I’m honest, two years later I’m still trying to find it)
Lockdown, wearing gym kit for work and not wanting to spend money on maternity clothes I’ll only wear for a few months has meant wardrobe options have been relatively limited this pregnancy, but actually, that’s made life easier. Dungarees are my go-to - these @newlook cord ones have seen me through both pregnancies, my two besties through theirs and even survived an unfortunate ripping incident during the “birthing positions” part of my NCT course 🤣 Adding in a non-maternity top that still fits over bump (I managed to do up about 3 buttons on this @ganni one) is an easy way to make maternity wear feel a bit more “you”. Along with these dungarees and a denim pair I found on @ebay_uk, I’ve lived in @newlook’s leggings - the only ones I could find that didn’t go opaque - @topshop straight maternity jeans (RIP) @hm Mama gym leggings and a couple of dresses from my first pregnancy - mostly @asos maternity or @zara sized up. My maternity wardrobe tips? Look for dresses with easy boob access that you can wear post-pregnancy (I totally failed on this first time round 🤦🏻‍♀️) check out maternity rental sites like @for.the.creators (we have a post on this on site) or shop second hand on @ebay_uk @depop or Facebook marketplace. What are your maternity must-buys?
Just a cheeky bit of midweek nail inspo to either Just a cheeky bit of midweek nail inspo to either copy at home or save for THAT trip to the nail salon in April. You might have noticed in stories that my nails are completely bare at the moment - I had my last set of gels done in October (bright red in case you were wondering). I did a home removal job and tried to wing it through December with a couple of costs of a cheap festive glitter polish but it kept flaking off the same day I painted them 😅 I haven’t bothered using the at-home gel set I have because #twokids but LORD ALMIGHTY will I be glad to look at my hands and see a bright, shiny rainbow mani looking back at me 😭🙌🏼🌈 Hannah x
