La! The ‘It’s A Sin’ Charity Tee You Need

18/02/2021 by Gemma Yates

2 Min Read

The binge-watch of lockdown 2021, ‘It’s a Sin‘ may have tackled the heavy, heart-breaking and hugely important subject of the 1980s AIDS pandemic, but writer Russell T Davies made sure it wasn’t short on light-hearted moments either.

Fans will be familiar with the central gang’s (Ritchie, Ash, Roscoe, Jill and Colin) habit of regularly exclaiming “La!” as a greeting or simply to punctuate conversation, a catchphrase that serves as a reminder of their friendship and shared history throughout the show. Like a lot of the show’s storylines, Davies explained that he rooted the group’s catchphrase in his own experiences as a youngster in youth theatre. “I did that as a little camp kid in Swansea,” he revealed. “Me and my gang of mates, when we were teenagers all belonged to the same youth theatre and that was one of our jokes.”

If, like us, you devoured all 5 episodes quicker than a Mini Eggs bar, you can soothe the ‘It’s a Sin’ withdrawal symptoms by snapping up Philip Normal’s La t-shirt, which has just come back in stock after selling out in record time. The Brixton Village boutique owner’s statement tee is designed in collaboration with HIV charity Terrence Higgins Trust and for each £25 tee sold, £20 goes to the charity to provide support for people living with and affected by HIV, and to campaign for change.

The hot pink and black versions have already sold out, but the classic white is still available in all sizes – for now. A on-point tee that supports a small business and a brilliant charity? Sold!

You might have noticed in stories that my nails are completely bare at the moment - I had my last set of gels done in October (bright red in case you were wondering). I did a home removal job and tried to wing it through December with a couple of costs of a cheap festive glitter polish but it kept flaking off the same day I painted them 😅 I haven’t bothered using the at-home gel set I have because #twokids but LORD ALMIGHTY will I be glad to look at my hands and see a bright, shiny rainbow mani looking back at me 😭🙌🏼🌈 Hannah x
