The Internet Is Going Mad For This £17 Hyaluronic Acid

First things first: if iconic drugstore skincare brand CeraVe isn’t on your beauty radar, it should be. The ultra-affordable, dermatologist-developed range took TikTok by storm last summer, with influencers like Hyram Yarbro recommending it to his five million followers and causing products to instantly sell out – much to the annoyance of longtime CeraVe devotees.

When it comes to beauty, we like to take an inclusive, democratic approach, firmly believing that a £10 product – like CeraVe’s cult Hydrating Cleanser – can be just as effective as a £60 counterpart. FYI, said cleanser totally is. In fact, dermatologists often recommend CeraVe to patients in need good, gentle products, earning the brand a reputation as the gold standard in pharmacy skincare.

CeraVe’s latest launch, a £17 Hyaluronic Acid Serum, looks set to send the brand’s one billion (and counting) TikTok video tags soaring. Arriving at the perfect time to save our dry winter skin before we begin to see people IRL again, it’s the texture of the product that sets it apart. While most Hyaluronic acids tend to be slightly tacky, CeraVe’s version is a creamier serum, fusing HA with glycerin, vitamin B5 and three essential ceramides to protect the natural skin barrier. A weak barrier is what makes skin dry in the first place, so CeraVe’s serum doesn’t just address the problem, it gets to the root of it. Throw in the brand’s MVE technology, a unique delivery system that transports ingredients through the skin and you’re looking at 24 hours of skin hydration for under £20. Sold.

There’s also some expert advice from the brilliant @clarebournephysio in there too. Remember, a c-section is major surgery and has a huge effect both physically and emotionally - especially if it wasn’t the birth you’d hoped for - so be kind to yourself, process the emotions and honour what your body has been through ❤️ Link in bio to read.
Dreamy sunlight and daffs to brighten up Monday, b Dreamy sunlight and daffs to brighten up Monday, because this snow/sleet/-1 degrees combo is really not doing it for me this morning. NGL, I’m feeling some serious overwhelm and ALL of the emotions today - think it’s a mix of lockdown restrictions easing (anyone else just not sure they’re ready yet?!) and my last week of training clients before maternity leave starts. Oh, and probably a bit of a sugar comedown from my insane baby shower cake yesterday. Trying to lean into the feelings and remind myself that there is no rush and I can navigate the return to real life on my own terms - as can you. In the meantime, coffee - and regular glances at this smile-inducing snap - are helping. We’ve got this. Gemma 💚💛🧡
