Now, we’re not sure about you, but every damn outfit we put on at the moment has to tick one major box: it has to be warm enough to sit at the park for two+ hours in five degree heat whilst we catch-up with a mate/attempt to eat a packed lunch/stop our toddler from tripping over a dog. But, there’s an IKEA-shaped curveball on the horizon, because the furniture brand are launching a wearable duvet that’s perfect for outdoor socialising with mates in outrageously cold weather.
The ‘FÄLTMAL’ will be launching at the start of April, and is the brand’s first cushion-quilt-coat hybrid. Oh yeah, did we forget to mention that it packs up as a handy cushion with a fishnet pocket to store things?
Whilst there’s no denying it’s every camping guru’s dream, it’s also the most practical thing we’ve ever seen for all the back garden catch-ups we have planned when lockdown restrictions ease next week on the 29th March – allowing for six people (or two households) to meet in an outdoor space.
IKEA describe their new product as: “A soft cushion that transforms into a large body quilt. Packs easily into a cushion again when you are on the go. It surrounds you and stays in place thanks to the sleeves and button fastening in the back. Keeps you warm and snug when travelling, commuting or when you long for extra cosiness indoors.”
When it launches next month it will retail for £25 – and if you’re reading this from Spain there’s exciting news for you, because it’s already on sale where you are.
The very handsome quilt comes in a deep forest green, and we’ve no doubt it’ll be your most stylish #OOTD yet… Bring on cosy mates dates next month!
