If there’s one thing Marks & Spencer do bloody well (aside from meal deals, lingerie and baby clothing sales), it’s the humble snack. From their savoury three for £7 picnic selection to their infamous bags of Percy Pigs, M&S know how to do bite size food that gets us just a little bit excited.
And, now that Easter’s firmly out the picture for another year, we’re looking for a new chocolate love affair to fill the egg-shaped hole in our lives. So, it’s a good job M&S have utterly smashed it out the park with the latest sweet snacks to hit their shelves – all of which should be available to buy now.
First up, we have that sharing dessert. You’ve probably seen it doing the Instagram story circuits over the past week or two – the Gimme S’more Brownie, which, as the name suggests, is a mash-up of marshmallow, chocolate, biscuit and brownie. It’s best eaten warm after eight minutes in either the oven or under the grill and comes as part of their barbecue three for £10 range.
The second new release we’re excited about? The Colin The Caterpillar button biscuits. Put simply, they’re round chocolate biscuits with a smooth chocolate filling and a rainbow sprinkle top. The perfect accompaniment to your afternoon cup of tea.
And finally, say hello to the Marks & Spencer Cake-Away jars. They come in a variety of flavours (Colin the Caterpillar, Raspberry Ripple and Trillionaire – which is caramel and chocolate) and cost £4. They’re marketed as being easy to eat anywhere and being the perfect size for just one person, and yes, you can absolutely sign us up.
And on that note, we’re off to raid the snack cupboard, there’s only so much one person can write about cake without y’know, needing to eat the cake…
