If there’s two words we always want to see in the same sentence it’s ‘pudding’ and ‘ice cream’ so thank you Waitrose, for giving the good people exactly what they want. The supermarket chain this week announced two new ice cream flavours hitting their freezers for spring, and we think both sound absolutely outrageously delish.
What are they you ask? Well, in a swirly yellow tub you’ll find Banoffee Pie Ice Cream (West Country cream, banana, salted caramel ripple and biscuit), and in a swirly red tub you’ll find Summerberry Cheesecake Ice Cream (West Country cream, summerberry compote and biscuit pieces).
The two new launches follow on from the success of 2020’s pudding ice cream by Waitrose – Raspberry Trifle, which was incredibly popular.
They said, via their PR Instagram account (@waitrosepr): “Pudding or ice cream? Now there’s no need to choose, with our new Scrumptious Summer ice creams. The range is back for another year, with a focus on nostalgic flavours and classic recipes with an innovative twist.”
“Following on from last year’s best-selling Raspberry Trifle Ice Cream, our team has created two new flavours based on the nation’s favourite desserts. Look out for fruity Summer Berry Cheesecake and creamy Salted Caramel Banoffee Pie – both made with delectable West Country cream.”
Both new flavours will be available in-store and online from this week. The standard price will be £3 for a 500ml tub, but it’s currently £2.40 as an introductory offer.
We know where we’re headed for some weekend goodies…
