When we asked you guys where the last item of clothing you bought came from, via our Instagram stories last week, one thing became clear: you guys love a supermarket bargain just as much as we do. Which is why we absolutely had to tell you about the latest OH. MY. GOD. dress that’s just landed at George at Asda.
It’s midi length, features a red gingham print, a tiered skirt and tie-straps. That’s tick, tick, tick to some of our favourite spring/summer 2021 trends, making this dress look far pricier than its £18 price tag.
It launched online over the weekend and is available in sizes 8-24 (although size 8 has already sold out) and will also be available in-stores.
The shape is almost identical to a yellow midi dress they launched three years ago which became one of the hardest-to-hunt-out budget frocks of the summer.
We’ve no doubt that this updated style will be just as popular – if not more so. We love the fact that the tie straps make the dress breastfeeding friendly, whilst the lightweight style is perfect for heatwave days and holiday nights. If the strappy style makes you feel self-conscious our top tip is to wear a plain white round-neck t-shirt underneath – a v cool, wearable nod to nineties chic. Plus, it’ll work with everything from chunky trainers and TEVA sandals for a dressed down look, or strappy heels for evening.
We have to admit, we’ve been floored by just how good George at Asda’s collection has been this season – their gingham blouses are dreamy, and their jumpsuit and midi dress selection is incredibly extensive.
It’s going to prove very hard trying not to sneak something in the trolley during our next weekly shop…
