Long gone are the days where our underwear drawers are fully of hairy (?) pairs of French knickers in a rainbow palette of colours, and in are the days where hole-ridden, up-to-the-belly-button maternity knickers reign supreme. But what if you wanted to wear something in-between the two? Pants that felt incredibly comfy but also made you feel cute too?
We turned to you guys via Instagram stories to shout about the undies that you adore. We had hundreds of responses, but there were just some brands and styles that came up time and time again.
And one thing we learned? You guys love a high-waisted knicker as much as us, but also that thongs were highly recommended too. When it came to the best place to buy them? Well there was never any question, Marks & Spencer came out on top by far – with pretty much every style getting a shout out from at least one of you.
So without further ado, these are the best (and comfiest) pants and knickers, as voted by you…
H&M Seamless Briefs
Admittedly, we didn’t peg trusty H&M to do a cracking pair of high-waisted briefs, but we were wrong. Their seamless pants aren’t exactly cheap at £6.99 a pop, but they come in an array of low-key shades and the biggie… they don’t leave a sneaky VPL lazing around. H&M’s seamless thongs also had many a vote from you guys, and they come in packs of two for £9.99. Plus, all H&M members get free postage, whatever the checkout amount.

Marks & Spencer Cotton Pants
So many of you raved about the standard and variety of Marks & Spencer’s full cotton briefs. You can get a five pack for £12, making them some of the most affordable out there, and they come in plenty of designs and colours, with many having a lace top for a slightly sexier feel. Other M&S styles that were recommended time and time again were the modal thongs and the Brazilian cut (for something that sits in-between a full brief and a thong).
Modibodi Period Pants
So many of you said you loved these pants so much that you want to (and do) wear them outside of your period because of the sheer comfort they bring to your life. Modibodi are the OG period pants, but can be also worn for bladder weakness and pregnancy. They’re a practical, environmental and economical (in the long-run) alternative to the likes of sanitary towels and tampons. The up-front cost is high, with prices starting close to £20 for a mid-absorbency knicker but they last a long time, and, as an extra bonus, they come in a lot of very cool colours and styles.
Stripe & Stare
Honestly? I’d never heard of Stripe & Stare before you guys shouted about them obsessively on social media. They’re on a mission to create the world’s comfiest (and most sustainable) knickers, and every pair is made from TENCEL Modal that comes from trees. A pack of four knickers will set you back £40, whilst an eight-pack is £80. The colours are incredibly cool and wearable, and they even do a v nostalgic days of the week set.
The second most-rated pants retailer? Good ol’ Primark. And, whilst many of you haven’t looked back since buying a pack of their full briefs, there were a lot of you who were hooked on their £1 thongs, as well as their high-waisted thongs. Primark have also recently released their own line of period pants, with prices at just £6 a pair. We’re interested to find out how they hold up compared to the OGs.
ASDA Lace-Top Midi Pants
And the queen of the supermarkets? It was ASDA with their lace-top midi pants. At £7 for a pack of five, they’re a great budget option. And, whilst their wasn’t a huge colour variety online, we reckon you’re likely to be able to hunt out more in-store. Sainsbury’s shorts also got many a shout-out from you guys too.
