Back in 2018 fashion brand Coast – most famed for its occasionwear (think race dresses, wedding guest dresses and bridesmaid dresses) – entered administration. It’s since become an online-only store that’s owned by the Boohoo group, but wowsers, has it had one hell of a glow-up.
Coast’s previous signature styles were elegant and classic, there was plenty of florals, full skirts and feminine details. It was nice, without being too fashion-forward or boujee. But their new collection, well heck, we want it all.
And prices have dropped too. A leopard print midi dress will set you back just over £50, whilst cute out-out tops start at around £30.

We love that Coast’s new look plays homage to its original vibes – everything’s still dressy, there’s plenty of lace and stand-out prints, and the shapes are flattering and feminine. But it’s just more fun than before, there’s more colour, and there’s even a bit of a RIXO feel going on. Everything looks like it could easily have come straight from the new-nn section of Net-A-Porter rather than, well, the new-in section of Coast.
We think it’s going to be a great spot to hunt out a special occasion dress that no-one else will have, and at the moment all the truly great pieces are still available in all sizes – hurrah!
