We’re always on the lookout for the next Brit crime drama that’s going to grip us in the same way as the likes of Broadchurch, Happy Valley and The Missing did, so when we saw an advert on ITV pop up on our TV screens for a new gritty series starring Anna Maxwell Martin, we had to find out more.
Hollington Drive follows the story of two sisters and their families spending time together on a glorious summer’s evening when their kids ask to head off and play at a nearby park – and, without dropping spoilers, the storyline spirals from there.
It was filmed in Wales earlier this year and stars Anna Maxwell Martin, who you’ll likely recognise from her recent stints in both Motherland and Line Of Duty,as one of the main characters alongside Rachael Stirling (from Wild Bill), Rhashan Stone (from Finding Alice) and Peter McDonald (who you might have spotted in Dublin Murders).
So then, when is Hollington Drive on our screens? Well – and this is the clanger – ITV have already started airing adverts for the hotly tipped crime drama, but the advert reveals that it won’t actually be on the telly until later this autumn. So we’re guessing that if they’re advertising it in June, it must be really, really, truly very good (or so we hope).
There will be four episodes when the series airs later this year, and has been written by Sophie Petzal who recently won an award for her work on 2018 thriller Blood.
We’ll let you know as soon as that air date is revealed…
