We’ve all long known that we should be wearing SPF every single day – yup, even on cloudy, rainy, what-the-fuck-is-the-sky-doing winter days. But finding one we like, one that doesn’t leave skin greasy or leave a white cast on darker skin tones can often feel like a wild goosehunt. But when we discovered The Body Shop’s cult Skin Defence SPF a few years ago, it was instant love.
Retailing at £18 for a 40ml bottle and with SPF 50, the moisturiser has such a hero reputation because it quickly sinks into skin and works as a great base to apply make-up onto. It’s so great, in fact, that it boasts nearly 300 pages of reviews on the Body Shop website.
And now there’s a new Skin Defence SPF joing the gang, because the UK-based beauty brand have just launched a lighter version: Skin Defence Multi-Protection Light Essence SPF 50.
So, what’s the difference? Well, the new Light Essence formula is, as the name suggests, super lightweight. It’s also enriched with hyaluronic acid, whilst the OG is enriched with vitamin C. Both products help to protect from indoor and outdoor pollution.
There’s also an SPF 30 facial spray in the range if that’s more your thing.
