The Pig is one of our all-time favourite hotel chains at home in the UK. With properties across the south of England, dotted everywhere from Cornwall to Kent, and a focus on ‘restaurants with rooms’, they offer the perfect slightly-opulent spot for a staycation.
And, in just over a month, they’ll be opening the doors to their 8th hotel, which is called The Pig In The South Downs, and can be found a few miles outside of Arundel, West Sussex.
The new location officially opens on the 6th September 2021 and has already sold out all midweek stays until November, and all weekend stays until December – so if you want to swing in a cheeky weekend stay-vay before the year is up, you better be quick!
The hotel chain said of their new opening: “It’s made up of a Regency main house with a traditional greenhouse restaurant, and rooms spread out between a higgledy piggledy collection of traditional brick, flint and timber clad Sussex stable yard buildings, which, together with Field and Garden Wagons, provide a real range and variety of accommodation – all have been lovingly restored and nestle together around original courtyards – the feel is intimate, safe, and friendly.”
The location puts it within good exploring distance of both Brighton and Chichester, whilst there’s plenty to explore in the town of Arundel itself, with the picturesque South Downs and excellent seaside options also close to hand.
Prices start from just under £200 for a snug double room in the main building during a midweek stay, and go up to close to £400 a night at peak time.
