We’ve been waiting with bated breath since we binge watched the third season of Stranger Things back in the summer of 2019 (remember a world before the pandemic? Us neither), and now Netflix have finally announced when season four will be available for us to watch.
The answer? 2022. Anything more specific? Nope. All we know is that it will be next year, although chances are they streaming service will drop a more specific timing closer to the date.
Netflix revealed a 30-second trailer for their uber popular teen sci-fi show via their social media accounts, with the caption: “uʍop ǝpᴉsdn ǝɥʇ uᴉ noʎ ǝǝS Stranger Things returns in 2022.”
And if you’re unable to read upside down and backwards, it says: “See you in the upside down.”
The trailer doesn’t give too much away, but shows plenty of action and drama, and the only words spoken say: “Eleven, are you listening?” (speaker unknown) and Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin, saying: “Holy mother of”.
As like most of our fave shows, filming was suspended due to lockdown and the fourth season was therefore delayed. You can catch-up on seasons 1-3 via Netflix, and if you’re new to the series, it’s well worth a watch. Whilst it might not sound like your usual cup of tea (set in eighties Indiana, follows a group of pre-teens who stumble into some wild sci-fi adventures which threaten life as we know it – it is incredibly well made, the characters are brilliant and it’s unlike anything else out there right now).
Let the countdown begin…
