While we used to tear open advent calendar doors to get to the teeny chocolates that lay behind them, these days, the countdown to Christmas is a lot more bouji. From beauty and booze to coffee and popcorn, the advent calendar ante has been well and truly upped in recent years, and it’s never too early to order yours.
Perhaps the most coveted calendar of them all is Liberty’s. At £225, it ain’t cheap, but it’s packed with £840 worth of products from the hallowed Liberty beauty hall. This year, as well as 19 full-size products from the likes of Ren, Olaplex and Le Labo, Liberty is hiding a golden ticket worth £5000 in one of the calendars.
If your budget doesn’t stretch to Liberty-level luxury (or it sells out before you can get your hands on it), don’t worry: there’s an advent calendar to suit every taste and budget. From LookFantastic to Lush, Fortnum & Mason to ASOS, we’ve rounded up the best around. And, if you’d rather not let your kids have access to chocolate before 8am, we’ve included a couple of sugar-free ones for them too. Unless you’ve got some serious willpower, we strongly suggest stashing them out of sight until December 1st.
