Tiger King will forever hold a place in our minds as part of our Lockdown. 1.0 journey (that, and panic ordering a puzzle from Amazon and desperately trying to get hold of any kind of pasta). So we were trilled to discover that a second season of the bizarre documentary is coming to Netflix later this year.
The TV streaming service announced the news earlier this week via their social channels. They said on Twitter: “Tiger King is coming back this year — and Season 2 promises just as much mayhem and madness as Season 1!”
The first season followed the journey of zookeeper Joe Exotic, who is, let’s just say…quite a character. The documentary focused on his unusual lifestyle as well as his ongoing feud with animal rights activist Carole Baskin. The season ended with Joe being sentenced for 22 years in prison for animal abuse, and he is currently serving that sentence.
We’re not entirely sure what this next season will hold but with only three months left of the year (HOW?!) we know we won’t have long to wait until it arrives on Netflix.
In the meantime there’s also Louis Theroux’s ‘Shooting Joe Exotic’ to watch over on iPlayer to find out more about the story.
