You know we bloody love a boxset binge, and TV nights are about to get even better because Sky have just launched a brand new device and streaming service which means you no longer need a satellite dish to receive their channels – a bloody brilliant launch for those who are renting or living in properties which don’t allow them.
Sky Glass is released next month – it’s essentially a TV (a bit like how you’d buy a Samsung or smart TV) and will come with Sky built in. You’ll simply be able to use a Sky subscription over WiFi and will also be able to access things like Netflix and Disney+.
The TV comes in five colours: Anthracite Black, Ocean Blue, Racing Green, Dusky pink, Ceramic White and all come with a matching colour co-ordinated remote. Interiors heaven right there.
You can buy the TV outright – it comes in three sizes and prices start at £649 – or sign-up to a monthly subscription which covers both the cost of the TV and your Sky package, a bit like you would with a phone contract. Prices for that start at £13 for 48 months and increase for larger sizes as well as for add-ons like Sky Sports or Sky Movies. There’s more info on costs here.
There’s also fast forward adverts included free for 12 months, then £5 a month to keep or simply remove it.
Sky Glass launches on 18th October.
