Staying Home For NYE? These Are The Best Meal Kits To Order In

15/12/2021 by Hannah Gale

5 Min Read

Whether you’re staying home this New Year’s Eve because, well… you always stay home for NYE or because you’re feeling anxious with the current state of the world, we thought we’d round up some of the best meal kits you can order in for the grand opening to 2022. It can only get better, right?

You might want a takeaway, you might want to just rustle up your classic go-to bouji lasagne, or you might want to feast on something that tastes like it’s from a fancy pants restaurant but has in fact been whipped up by you. There’s some brilliant at-home dining experiences out there from some of your fave places to eat out (but be warned, they are selling out fast), so scroll down for NYE dinner ideas…

Dishpatch

Dishpatch offer divine set sharing meals from some of the top chefs and restaurants in the country. Their NYE menu has been incredibly popular but their Sri Lankan Kari Feast by Hoppers (which serves two) is still on the table. Looking to feed more mouths? No problem. Their King’s Banquet by Roti King costs £70 but serves six people. Everything you need to put on a proper spread comes pre-prepared, things just need warming through and serving. Easy peasy. Shop here.

Pasta Evangelists

For fresh, delicious and affordable pasta from the comfort of your sofa, look no further than Pasta Evangelists. You can set up a subscription to have a box arrive ever week (or fortnight), or you can order yourself a one-off for a big night in. On the menu for the week of NYE is Mac n Cheese with Black Truffle, Free Range Turkey and Chestnut Cannelloni and Salmon & Mascarpone Ravioloni with Capers & Dill Butter (as well as plenty of other options – vegan and gluten-free available and some delicious add-ons such as pudding and bread, yes please!). Shop here.

Dishoom

Have the ultimate Bombay-inspired night in with Dishoom’s outrageously good meal-kits. We love the £60 Home Feast which comes with everything you need to eat yourself into a food coma and still have leftovers the next day. There’s meats that need grilling and sides that need pulling together, so there’s a small amount of prep and cooking to wade through, but it’s worth it for the mouth-watering end result. Shop here.

Hawksmoor

Meat-lovers, listen up because this one is for you. Hawksmoor’s at-home menu is immense and there’s plenty of options to suit different budgets and tastes. Our pick? The £110 (we know – more than slightly eye-watering) three-course chateubriand box. Aside from steak, ribs and a variety of sides, there’s sticky toffee pudding and an option to pay an extra £20 for sour cherry negronis and a bottle of rioja. Shop here.

Dirty Bones

Fancy a sexy, dirty burger this New Year’s Eve? Well, Dirty Bones have you covered with their Holiday Kit which includes burgers for two, tater tots, crispy roasted sprouts and alcoholic beverages. There’s even a veggie version if that’s more your thing. For £58 for two it’s almost cheaper than actually eating out… Shop here.

Burger and Lobster

Get your lobster fix with Burger & Lobster’s Hangover Kit (we know, we know, it would work on the 1st January too). For £55 you’ll get a feast for two including lobster rolls, lobster croquettes, fries and four cans of Bloody Mary. There’s also burgers on offer if that’s more your jam. Enjoy! Shop here.

Restokit

Not quite sure what you fancy? Restokit houses at-home kits from a variety of restaurants with cuisines like Japanese and Italian. For delivery on December 31st there’s six different choices including Chick’n’Sours kit which includes an outrageous amount of fried chicken and sides (hello watermelon salad) for £75. Shop here.
