It’s been over a year since the first wildly popular series of Bridgerton arrived on Netflix and was quickly commissioned for a second follow-up season. But what we want to know is, just when is the brilliant period drama returning to our screens?
Well, we haven’t got long to wait because Netflix recently revealed that season two of Bridgerton would air on Netflix UK on March 25th 2022. That’s only a casual two and a half months to wait.
The first season contained eight hour-long episodes which all arrived at once on the streaming service. It was so popular that it quickly became Netflix’s most watched TV series ever across the globe.
We don’t know much yet about the new season, but we do know that Regé-Jean Page (who plays Simon Bassett) won’t be appearing, and that whilst the first season focused on the relationship between Daphne and Simon, this next one will focus on Daphne Bridgerton’s brother, Anthony, and his love life.
His love interest will be played by Simone Ashley who plays Olivia in Sex Education.
Bridgerton is based on a series of eight novels by Julia Quinn. Each of the eight novels explores the love life of a different Bridgerton sibling (which means that yes, there’s eight Bridgerton siblings). So whilst we know that the Regency show has already been commissioned for seasons three and four, it’s likely both of those will also focus on different characters and their relationships.
Does this mean we might get eight seasons of Bridgerton to look forward to? We hope so!
