Period pants just got one step even more sustainable thanks to Modibodi, who have created the world’s first ever biodegradable style which is also period and pee proof. Sounds brilliant, right?
The pants have been two years in the making and are made of bamboo, merino wool and tencel. They last for over 100 washes and if buried in soil will completely disappear within five years. Which is mad but absolutely bloody brilliant.
The Modibodi biodegradable pants come in two styles: the full brief and the bikini and are so far just available in ocean blue. They sell at £32 (bikini) or £34 (full brief) and are currently available in sizes 6-20.

They wash and are worn in the same way as other period pants. Once used they need to be run under a tap and rinsed and then can go on a delicates wash in the washing machine.
Never tried period pants before? We’ve got a post all about what it actually feels like (do they smell? do they leak? are they practical?) as well as a review on Primark’s budget £12 pair!
