The Ordinary has been the budget skincare line creating social media buzz since it launched back in 2016. And whilst it’s their iconic little 30ml bottles of lotions and potions (that contain every power ingredient from salicylic acid to niacinamide) that are most Insta-famous, the brand are about to launch into haircare in a big way.
Devout fans of the the brand will already know that The Ordinary recently launched a hair serum (a multi-peptide serum that is supposed to make hair thicker, fuller and healthier), but new releases from the skincare company will include a shampoo, conditioner and scalp treatment.

Whilst the skin products tend to retail between £5 and £10 (which is what makes them quite so iconic in the world of beauty gurus), the hair products are mostly similarly priced. Both the shampoo (Sulphate 4% Cleanser for Body and Hair) and conditioner (Behentrimonium Chloride 2% Conditioner) will retail at £6.80, whilst other products are slightly pricier.
All products will launch today (22nd Feb) at 3pm and will be available on the brand’s website which you can shop here.
Prudvi Kaka, chief scientific officer at Deciem (who owns The Ordinary) said: “Maintaining optimum scalp health by protecting the skin’s barrier alongside effective cleansing and moisturising is very important”.
“We are able to achieve this with minimal ingredients tailored to target specific hair and scalp needs. With our haircare launches, we are providing solutions that can be combined to offer cleansing, conditioning and hydration but can also be used as standalone products.”
Early reviews are good. Better set that 3pm alarm…
