Whilst perusing my local Marks & Spencer store with a mate at the tail-end of last year, I spotted an olive green quilted jacket. It wasn’t my usual style in the slightest. But peer pressure by the way of Instagram had got to me and on a whim I decided to try it on. It was soft and light and felt like I was wearing a cloud. At £55 I decided to go away and think about it, and by 8pm that night I was busy whacking my card details into the M&S website.
It’s one of my most worn ‘light jackets’ to date. And clearly I wasn’t the only one snapping it up in a frenzied manner because the Per Una beauty quickly sold out online and hasn’t been back again since, aside from the odd size 8 popping up sporadically.
But there is huge, exciting, zesty spring news on the horizon because Marks & Spencer have just released their now-iconic quilted jacket in two new shades for the new season.
Say hello to the Padded Collarless Puffer Jacket in lavender and azure blue. Both shades are absolute HEAVEN, and I could easily snap up both in a heartbeat. But I won’t because, y’know… new car tyres and a pricey eye test.
The fit is more fitted than the Frankie Shop design that inspired countless high street versions. It’s light and comfy, and a good length to throw on over dungarees or jeans. My favourite way to wear it is with a big oversized shirt collar poking out, and it’s my go-to throw on light jacket for everything from the nursery run to yoga class.
If you’re interested then we recommend snapping it up pronto, we reckon it’ll be sold out ASAP!
