Nothing has had us hooked at 9pm every Sunday evening quite like ITV’s explosive (quite literally) Trigger Point. The crime drama, which features Line of Duty’s Vicky McClure, has been our must-watch since it first came to our screens back in January, and there’s some good news on the horizon, because writers have just confirmed that it’s been renewed for a second season!
The exhilarating show follows a fictional Metropolitan Police Bomb Disposal Squad and has you forgetting to breathe approximately every 11 minutes – it’s gripping, it has plenty shock twists and it is actually shocking enough that you’ll forget to scroll on your phone the whole way through it.
Season one, which had six episodes, ended with a bang on ITV last night. And whilst the plot line for the follow-up season hasn’t been revealed just yet, we do know that it’s include Vicky as Lana Washington yet again and that it’ll debut sometime in 2023.
Show writer Daniel Brierley said: “I’m honoured and excited to be given the chance to continue Lana’s story. I feel there’s many more twists and turns in her future. It’s been thrilling to see how the public have responded to our show and I can’t wait to see what they will make of the next installment!”
Trigger Point’s first episode has now been watched by more than 11 million viewers, making it one of ITV’s most popular policing dramas in recent years, and for good reason – both me and Gem have been hooked the entire way through. Absolutely one to binge-watch on ITV Player if you haven’t yet given it a go!
Roll on 2023…
