Unforgotten has been one of our fave crime dramas since the series started way back in 2015. And – huge spoiler alert here – when DCI Cassie Stuart (played by Nicola Walker) left the show at the end of the fourth season we had big questions about whether it would all continue without her.
ITV quickly confirmed that it would, and this week, as filming for the fifth season kicked off, it was revealed who would be stepping into the role of DCI Sunny Khan’s partner. So let us introduce you to Sinéad Keenan who will be playing DCI Jessie James in the upcoming season.
You’ll likely best know her for her recent role as DI Paula Cassidy in BBC’s Showtrial which had us all hooked at the end of last year, but she’s also starred in Being Human and Three Families.
We’re unsure yet as to when the new season will air, but we do know that the first case that Sunny and Jessie will be working on together will involve the discovery of human remains in a newly-renovated period property in Hammersmith, London.
We’ll miss the chemistry between Nicola and Sanjeev, but we’re keen to see where this new pairing takes us…
