If you need something new to sink your teeth into come the evening then let us introduce you to the latest string of crime dramas that have everyone talking. I asked for some TV recommendations on my personal Instagram account and these are the programmes that were suggested over and over again by my followers.
They’ve all come out in the past month or so, all have rave reviews and are all ready for you to stream this weekend from the comfort of your sofa.
Which one you going to delve into first?
Not strictly a crime drama but more of a drama thriller mystery thing? I mean, people do die so there’s a definite element of crime in there. The story is based on a book by Louise Candlish and begins when a woman returns home to find all of her possessions gone and a new family moving into her house. You’re instantly thrust into the mystery and will start yelling your guesses as to what’s happened at the TV. There’s only four 45-minute episodes on ITV Hub so an easy one to sink your teeth into in one or two nights.
Pieces Of Her
New to Netflix is Pieces of Her which stars Toni Collette and Bella Heathcote. The series starts with a deadly mass shooting at a small-town diner and you’re immediately hooked on what comes next. The narrative revolves around Andy (played by Bella) re-discovering who her mum (played by Toni) actually is. There’s eight episodes to watch and Toni’s acting is described as thoroughly addictive.
There’s six episodes of Chloe over on iPlayer now. The plot? A woman develops an unhealthy fixation on an influencer and, when tragedy unfolds, she’s pulled right into the midst of her life. It’s creepy because of the modern day social media twist and the way it focuses in on our generational obsession with comparing ourselves to those we see online, but it’s gripping because you want to unearth exactly what’s happened.
Already seen them all? Here’s our epic list of the best crime dramas we’ve ever watched.
