Grab your butterfly clips and stick the Spice Girls on – Tammy Girl is back. ASOS (who else?) has just relaunched the iconic 90s brand, and it’s every bit as nostalgia-inducing as you’d imagine.
If you were a pre-teen in the 90s, you’ll no doubt have spent many a Saturday afternoon browsing for the perfect cargo pants/crop top/clip-in coloured hair extensions to wear to the school disco or a sleepover at your mates. A visit to Tammy was a rite of passage, and the ASOS revamp is completely true to the OG’s roots – skirts are low-slung, dresses are spaghetti-strapped and there’s glitter and butterfly prints galore.
Looks are styled with space buns, frosted lips (RIP Rimmel Heather Shimmer), Baby G watches and Buffalo-style boots; it’s as 90s as Tamagotchis’ and Saved By The Bell. Gen Z will no doubt go wild for it. As for us, it’s been fun reminiscing, but we’re happy to say our Tammy Girl days are firmly in the past.
