Loved learning more about your fashion choices in yesterday’s story polls. Turns out most of you love a midi dress (so long as it has sleeves AND a back) and wear granny pants most days. We had SO many DMs about not being able to choose between stripes and leopard print (you are my people, for sure) and it was also neck and neck when it came to wearing bright colours vs wearing black, and when it came to mom jeans vs skinny jeans. None of you want rara skirts or disc belts to come back into fashion. Why ever not?! 😂🥴🙈 (also, for anyone new around here wondering where Gemma is - she’s on maternity leave 💕).

The newest recruit to the @nakdwholefoods flavour

The newest recruit to the @nakdwholefoods flavour selection is Almond Macaroon. It launched earlier this year and I haven’t been able to find it ANYWHERE. Until now, obvs. Spotted a four-pack at my local Tesco. The flavour is sweet and subtle, maybe a good one if you like things like Cashew Cookie. Anyone else tried it? 💜

PSA: Spotted in @aldiuk stores this week is the Peony Blush candle 😍🌸 It’s a limited edition scent that comes and goes (spoiler: I’ve been buying Aldi candles for a couple of years now and not actually seen it in any of my local stores but Google confirms it was sighted back in 2018). It smells like spring - floral and fresh, and costs just £3.99. Enjoy!

Stats released last week by the ONS revealed that young women were the demographic most likely to suffer from depression since the start of 2021 - with a whopping 40% displaying symptoms. It’s hardly shocking because we’ve all had those chats in our WhatsApp groups over the past year. What is perhaps shocking - or worrying - is that far less people have seen their GP for mental illness than ever before. Health experts are putting it down to the general population not wanting to ‘burden’ the NHS. And I feel that. Because I’ve been there. But I’ve also been on the flip side - where I DID book a doctor’s appointment, and I DID speak honestly about my struggles and I DID get prescribed anti-depressants. It wasn’t instant, but life did get better and the good days began to outweigh the bad, and that heavy feeling of just existing started to lift away. It’s Mental Health Awareness Week and I’ve literally just scrambled together some of the saved posts from my personal account, in case they bring you a fresh perspective or a positive takeaway. The one thing I have learnt over the years is that mental illness never truly goes away, it lurks and lingers and sometimes fades away for weeks/months/years at a time. It is an ongoing job to prioritise yourself and your mind, but an incredibly important one at that. I have also added the numbers to urgent mental health helplines on the last slide, for anyone in crisis right now. It might not feel like it, but this feeling isn’t the only feeling you’ll ever feel.
